Nov 20, 2024

The musical-comedy sister duo Vickie & Nickie bring their seasonal show "Vickie & Nickie's Holiday Sleigh Ride" to St. Bonaventure University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts for a performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.Vickie and Nickie by Joseph Rivera

This is the fourth presentation in the 2024-2025 performance season at the Quick Center.

During this celebration of the holiday season, Minnesota style, the duo entertains with sidesplitting interpretations of favorite holiday songs and pop tunes, wacky originals, fun family stories, social commentary, improvisation and audience participation.

Created, written and performed by real-life sisters and multi-instrumentalists Lisa and Lori Brigantino, "Holiday Sleigh Ride" brings fast-talking Minnesota moms Vickie and Nickie to SBU straight from their prison circuit tour to celebrate the holiday season. The two accompany themselves on many different instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard, accordion, banjo, saxophone, ukulele, percussion and more.

Suburban housewives with 10 kids between them, the Minnesota moms got their start singing in church and a local nursing home as youngsters in Hibbing, Minnesota. When they can manage to get away from their identical twin husbands, Ronnie and Donnie, and their kids, Vickie and Nickie perform in prisons, hospitals, and on many stages around the country.

The creative Brigantino sisters have written and performed more than 10 different full-length Vickie & Nickie shows to date, including sold-out performances of their holiday shows in New York City.

The performance is presented in association with the Tri County Arts Council.

The Quick Center galleries will open one hour before the performance and remain open throughout the intermission.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for senior citizens and SBU employees, and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling The Quick Center at (716) 375-2494.
